Why iced tarragon tea is so good for you
Tarragon is often called the ‘king of herbs’ because of it’s fantastic health benefits. (Source medical news today)
Not only will it help with blood sugar levels but will also help with inflammation and relieving pain. Similar it will help improve sleep and has also been shown the help with depression, etc..
But the reason we use it in many recipes is the unique and lovely flavour.
2 items to focus on:
Item 1 – The tarragon you use
There are 3 different types of tarragon : French, Mexican and Russian.
Chef’s prefer using French tarragon because it has most flavour. Although the Mexican one is worth trying, as the flavour is slightly different.
Tarragon is very easy to grow at home, for example in a pot on a window sill, as pictured.
Item 2 – Jug or cafetiere and/or tea infuser?
I prefer using a cafetiere as it’s easy to use – simply push down the filter when you want to use it.
An alternative option is to use a jug or wide bottle and a tea infuser. Put the tarragon leaves and green tea in the infuser and then use a sieve when pouring.
For example the one pictured on the right is easy to use, and can also make iced coffee, fruit drinks, etc.
